These descriptions pertain to the parent jobs listed on the Player Registration form and the Volunteer Form that appear in eAYSO.org. Each Volunteer should complete the two SAFE HAVEN courses found at www.aysotraining.org
Please check your certifications listed on the lower right side of your eAYSO WELCOME page. Report errors/omissions to firstname.lastname@example.org
COACH: Checking this box does not guarantee that you will be a coach. Number of teams formed will determine how many coaches are needed. To be a coach, it is mandatory that you complete two online courses at www.aysotraining.org: AYSO’s Safe Haven and Concussion Awareness, and attend, or have attended one of the AYSO-sponsored coaching clinics for your certification. Clinics are held during July, August and September. Becoming a trained and certified coach satisfies the volunteer requirement for all players in the family.
REFEREE: No experience required. AYSO will train you. Courses will be held in August and September and will have an online component. You will also need to complete two online SAFE HAVEN courses at www.aysotraining.org: AYSO’s Safe Haven and Concussion Awareness. The region needs 300 referees (1 parent from every 5 families.) Each U10, U12, and U14 team that covers at least 18 referee assignments during the regular season will be eligible for playoffs. Each U8 team that covers at least 18 referee assignments will be invited to attend a post-season tournament to be held in December. Only parents of U6 players may do their own child’s game, while parents of older players will schedule themselves for the game immediately before or after their child’s game. Becoming a trained and certified referee covers all players in the family.
