AYSO REGION 69 - FALL 2008 REGISTRATION

April, 2008

To the Families of Returning and Prospective Players,

WELCOME!

As AYSO enters its 45th year with close to 650,000 children participating in over 1,000 local programs, I am proud to acknowledge that our local program, Region 69, achieved the AYSO Platinum Award for the outstanding programs offered during the 2006-2007 season  Every Region 69 volunteer made this possible – Thank you!

Please read the online Pre-Registration Procedures. If you do not have a computer, the Palisades Public Library on Alma Real Drive has free-online access for public use.  If you are still unable to pre-register online, AYSO staff will offer assistance at the Palisades Library on

Please bring your library card.  AYSO Staff cannot accept forms at the library but are there to assist you in completing the online registration and printing process.

This year, we will accept online credit card payment (Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card only) of $195 fee and team sponsorships  through April 26th.  Contributions and Field Sponsorships must be paid by check. ALL Forms MUST be mailed in to complete the pre-registration process.

Our Regional Staff has been working with local, state, and federal officials to secure and improve our limited field space. Our challenge continues to be the cost of field space rental, maintenance, and improvements, resulting once again in an unavoidable $10 fee increase per player.  The $1.4 million PCHS Stadium by the Sea all weather track and football/soccer field was  completed last month.   AYSO is currently raising money to contribute toward an all weather baseball field at Pali High, and lights at Barrington Park.    Your continued generous sponsorships and contributions are MOST appreciated.  Those who contribute $2,500 or more will receive special recognitionWe urgently need your donations this year.

Participation trophies will be given to the U6 and U8 divisions. Region Pins will be given to the U10-U19 divisions.  1st-4th place medals will continue to be awarded.

REFEREE POLICY

In order to provide safety and fairness at each game, the region needs approximately 300 referees to be trained and certified (one parent from every 5 families).

VISION / MISSION STATEMENT

AYSO’s vision is to provide world-class youth soccer programs that enrich children’s lives.  AYSO's mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs where everyone builds positive character through participation in a fun, family environment based on these five fundamental principals:  Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, and Good Sportsmanship.

SAFE HAVEN

All Coaches and Referees must be trained and certified to comply with AYSO’s  SAFE HAVEN Policy, and there must be a ratio of 1 adult per  8 players at practices and games.  The SAFE HAVEN Policy complies with the CHILD PROTECTION ACT OF 1993 (volunteer screening) and the VOLUNTEER PROTECTION ACT OF 1997 (this provides protection to volunteers from lawsuits as long as they are trained and certified, following their job description, and are acting within the scope of AYSO’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.)   All new volunteers will be required to  complete the  VOLUNTEER  APPLICATION FORM today, showing a driver’s license, prior to registering their  players.
